Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog

Hello dear reader!

Thank you for taking your time to visit my blog.

How it started:

When I started writing for this blog I had in mind a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “Women are like teabags. We don’t know our true strength until we are in hot water.”

I think every modern woman get’s pushed  “in hot water” in her day to day life, at work or in her private life. All too often we drift in a state of annoyance because we react to the overwhelming numbers of external cues we have to face. Multitasking at work, annoying people around us, our phones & social media and the loud cities we live in, all these are factors which all too often overwhelm us. Unfortunately, a lot of women do not even realize how drained of sense and energy their lives have become. And then you are surprised, that at the end of a “normal” day, you do not have energy for yourself and only crave some quiet time, on your sofa with ice cream and a soap opera? Of course you are surprised, because you have heard from a very early stage in your life that women can do it all.

I am really annoyed about these high demands and standards set up by society for modern women. It is expected of us to be smart and educated, healthy and well-dressed, wealthy and adventurous. While we support entire ecosystems of relationships, make things happen and often do not really get credit for our success. And if we do manage to have it all or make it all happen, someone ALWAYS will find a flaw for us.

Does not sound like a lot of fun being a “modern woman”, right?

My goal:

I will put the focus of my content on the professional life of women. My goal is to share good and bad stories. Furtheron, I want to give my readers meaningful ideas about small changes they could implement in their lives. I would love to do all this, while we have a big, strong laugh together about all the crazy stupidities we experience every day.

The name of the blog has, of course, a slight trace of irony in it. Often we hear stories about women who are magnificent performers in their fields but cannot get further on the career letter and get stuck on the middle management level.  I will try to gather some answers about this – let’s call it – “phenomenon”.

I would like to invite all women to share their thoughts about my writing at the e-mail address: ela@midmgmtladiesclub.com
